Resurrecting this blog

I've decided to bring this dead thing, just like Frankenstein, back to life.
It's been a while and I've let a few things slip. This being one of them.
My near immediate goals is building my PVR and putting a bunch of mac stuff on lemswap. I'm also going to search for an ADC video card for the g3 to see if my 15 in. still works.

Right now, those are my goals. Oh and one last goal, to try and update on a regular basis.

Scrounging for Parts

I've cannibalized two different laptops for parts. A thirty gig hard drive from one, and a 256mb chip from another. I've also been on fleaBay looking for the full install disk of OS9. It's amazing what kind of money people will ask for old obsolete stuff.

I called a used computer store, but they didn't have any. If we didn't have such a bad day at the park (see my other post on that) I would have stopped in at the one close to us, but well, yeah, crappy day, it went totally out of my head.

My plan for tomorrow is to put out another os9 call on SFFN freecycle and see if any kind soul would like to part with theirs. I also need to get my pictures in order so when I get the operating system on it, all I have to do is load up my iphoto. Going through Dharma's pics is going to be a task.

Speaking of pictures, I'm going to be uploading some of the powerbook, well as soon as I take them::grin:: So keep checking back, I hope to have some scenes starring the powerbooks guts in a day or two.

Long Day a Powerbooking

I've spent the day trying to get the wallstreet to boot. I kept getting the screen to restart and hold the shift key to turn off extensions. Several times and nope doesn't want to play nice. Even tried removing the PCMCIA that runs a different video driver and dvd player, still no go. Decided to wipe and install 9.2.

Whoops! Read after the fact that it will only do OS9 and then can upgrade to 9.2. And I can only use the full retail version, not something that comes with say an ibook or g4 mac. Well crap!

Note to self: friggin read before doing! Oh well Scarlett, tomorrow is another day. Whoops again, it's already tomorrow, er today...man my head hurts

Yikes Blogger!

Since I couldn't access my other blog site and have spent all friggin day on it, I decided to create a new one.

I'm going to be using this site to catalog my progress on my very on iFrame. Brooklynne very graciously gave me her old wallstreet and I've decided to make it into a revolving picture frame. I might eventually get around to adding my iTunes library. I have found some modding sites that have general info, but I want to be able to help others with more in-depth details.
